Elena Glebova participates Grand Prix stage in Russia // 18.06.2010

Recently appeared that Elena Glebova will take part at least in one competition of Grand Prix series – in Rostelecom Cup 2010 in Russia. The fifth stage of the GP series will take place in Moscow 19-21 November 2010. Elena’s high position – she’s 22nd in the world ranking - gives her the right to participate at least in one of the GP stages, but if someone withdraw, she can get the right to participate in some other stage, too.

New long program // 30.05.2010

Elena worked for three days with choreographer Maria McLean from Denmark, who is also ISU’s tehnical specialist. McLean is a former figure skater who skated for Great Britain in the seventies. After finishing her career she worked as coach and choreographer. McLean did also choreographies for Laura Lepistö, who won bronze medal at the World Championships this year.

Elena is working with McLean the second year in a row. During three days they worked with Elena`s free program to the Rimski-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol. However the music is the same as last year, the program is completely new. One of the reasons to change everything were the changes in the rules(for example, spiral combination is not compulsory element anymore).

New program shows Elena`s strong sides, but it also needs lot of stregth and endurance. McLean believes that this program really suits Elena`s personality, but she needs to work really hard to perform it perfectly, because it’s quite demanding.
Elena is going to cure her knee and train in Paris for next weeks, and she’s also going to perform in two iceshows in England in June.

Season overview // 13.05.2010

Today the Estonian Skating Union organised festiv ceremony of the ending season, where they summarised successful last season – Estonia organised European Championships, results were better than last year and for the first time Estonia has right to send two individual female figure skaters to compete next years European’s. ESU also gave Elena Glebova an award as the best female figure skater of the year. The event was also recorded by Estonian Televion. Elena Glebova on the Late Show // 08.01.2010

Elena Glebova was a guest of the estonian Late Show called "Dialogue" on the ETV channel. They were discussing upcoming European Championships, figure skating elements and who are more suitable for this sport, girls or boys.

Elena had an interview at the Radio on January 6th. Elena told in russian about upcoming European Championships, about how she prepared to this Olympic season, figure skating life, her goals and many more.

Еlena became 5 time National champion // 20.12.2009

Estonian National Championship was held on December 18th-20st, where Elena Glebova won her 5th National title. Elena won both, free and the short programs.

On November, 20th Elena Glebova showed the new form of estonian Olympic delegation for the Winter Olympic Games 2010.

Team Europe is the winner of Japan Open 2009! // 03.10.2009

For the first time in the history of Japan Open competition Team Europe took the lead. On the second place is Team North America, on the 3rd place is Team Japan. Congratulations to Samuel Contesti, Stephane Lambiel, Laura Lepisto and Elena Glebova, who tryed their best and reached the success, being such a great team.

Olga Rattik, who is a student of Estonian Academy of Arts, is designing Elena`s new Long Program dress. Design for a Short Program dress Elena did by herself as she did for most of her previous costumes. Girl`s ideas will realize seamstress Larisa Serebrijan.

The test skate was very successful for Elena // 16.08.2009

Estonian figure skating team tested their current skating shape last weekend. For Elena the competition was very successful. She landed five clean triple jumps and two double Axel’s in the free skating. She skated short program without any serious mistakes and performed a triple toe loop + triple toe loop combination in the middle of the program. «Despite the early good shape, there is still a lot of hard work to do. We plan to make my jumps more difficult in both programmes, work a little more on spins and also improve the choreography,» Elena commented.

Elena`s first competition this season will be Nebelhorn Trophy // 13.08.2009

Elena’s first competition this year will be Nebelhorn Trophy, which is held in the end of September in Oberstdorf, Germany. For the first time Elena will show her new programs there. Her short program’s music is a soundtrack from the movie «East of Eden» and free skating’s music is Rimsky-Korsakov’s «Capriccio Espangol».

Ilja Glebov and his partner Maria Sergejeva moved to Poland // 13.08.2009

Elena’s brother Ilja Glebov and his partner Maria Sergejeva moved to Poland to train in a city called Torun. Their new coaches are Dorota and Mariusz Siudek, multiple European championships’ medallists. Besides the Estonian pair there are many other pairs training there, among them the best British pair Stacey Kemp – David King.

Summer preparation // 19.07.2009

New season Elena started at the international camp of Alexei Mishin in Tartu (Estonia). After that she had an off ice camp with her coach Anna Levandi and then went to Canada. In Montreal Elena was coached by Manon Perron and the trainings went successfully. For the rest of the summer Elena stays in Tallinn and continues working on tehnique and new programms.
